Doing some busy work in the shop dyeing up a bunch of pieces for orders and also making some extra special horn holders for the coming up “Potrero War” as well as the Valhalla renaissance festival!

Well, it’s been a long time since I’ve posted but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been busy! Amongst other projects, here is a 1790’s Royal Navy midshipman’s coat I have made.
Happy Thorsday all! Behold one of the craziest Mjolnirs i have seen and have the pleasure of having in my shop, 1/4lb of Solid Sterling Silver solid cast and Heathen made.

I’ve started the engraving of the powder horn.
Based on a mixture of a few different period examples, like the one shown.
It is simply cut in with a blade and rubbed down with boot polish, to blacken the cuts.
File, clean, file, clean…
Really pleased with how this is going!
I’ve started work on one of three horns I recently bought.
The first job was to scrape off the scaley material and sand the horn down to a smooth finish.
I then cut the end flush and cut the tip off with a hack saw.
Next I will drill a hole in the tip and then I’ll begin the wooden plug.
