Denise Felling, 55, remained in county prison
Monday, unable to post the $75,000 bail set by District Judge Stuart
Mylin, court records show.
“My office, and the
police agencies in our county, remain committed to holding accountable
the abusers of animals,” District Attorney Craig Stedman said of the
effort to extradite Felling.
Investigators claim Fellling,
a former veterinarian, illegally rendered the dogs in Quarryville and
Kinzers unable to bark by shoving a rod into their vocal chambers. She
was arrested in Iowa last month.
eight felony charges of animal cruelty involving torture and serious
bodily injury. The charges were enacted in 2017 in an overhaul of
Pennsylvania’s animal cruelty laws, Stedman said.
