Loki and Chaos

Don’t get me wrong, Loki is undoubtedly the God/ess of chaos. And there are certain things that you just know happening because Loki is sitting there with a grin on their face.

But we need to take a closer look at the Lokean tendency to call everything bad that happens in their lives as Lokis influence.

This needs rethinking for two reasons, first chaos isn’t a primarily good or bad force. And secondly, there are definitely things that I would hesitate to say were sent from the gods.

Saying chaos can only occur in bad things seems to be the traditional assumption of Loki’s acts. But chaos is a neutral element. Chaos is not just what happens when things go wrong, chaos is just what happens when don’t go as expected.

I’ve worked as a stage manager for a while, and understanding chaos became a very important element. Sometimes the chaos would be perfect, bringing the right person at the right moment, other times the chaos was a danger to the show and you just had to buckle up and get ready for a ride. I had a job because chaos was expected, it’s not all bad just a lot to handle sometimes.

None of it was malicious or bad, it was simply an integral part of my job. Like legit, my job would be a lot more obsolete if there wasn’t chaos.

We need to move past this bad rep because of chaos, when chaos is not malicious or wicked but instead a natural force which can be helpful or harmful depending on many reasons
